Sea life symmetry

Experiments

Project —

An exploration of the underwater world through abstract motion and visual rhythm. This piece was originally developed as part of concept work for Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ), intended for a large-scale event activation in Brisbane. The content was designed to play across digital panels at the entrance and throughout the main event space.

The visual concept centred around the idea of simplicity, symmetry and movement, transforming organic marine textures into elegant, flowing forms. Using inspiration from marine life like clownfish and coral reefs, I applied vibrant patterns and textures to animated ribbons and geometric shapes. The result is a series of hypnotic, symmetrical sequences that echo the beauty and biodiversity of Queensland’s reef environments in a stylised, contemporary way.

Though the project remained in development, the vision was to create a captivating ambient experience. At scale, these animations would have brought a sense of wonder and motion to the event space, with immersive visuals that blend natural inspiration with modern design.
